EHB - Player Pathway


EH announce the move to Step-4 on the Getting Back on the Pitch roadmap.

Details of Step 4 were released yesterday evening (7th Aug. '20)  by England Hockey, these can be found on the COVID-19 club support page => [Step4]
All players taking part in the Development Center summer sessions will need to complete the [Participation Form] having read the [advice for participants]
If a player does not complete the form, they will not be permitted to participate in Step 4 hockey activity.

Development Centre and Academy Centre Player Pathway activity.

Following earlier guidance from England Hockey, all Norfolk Hockey activity has been suspended until the 30th June. England Hockey updated their guidance on the 29th May and produced a Roadmap to Return to Play. Details can be found here:- [EHB Statement] Norfolk Hockey optimostically released details of our Development Centre summer sessions on the 1st June. Details of the camps were uploaed to the website and sent to Norfolk Clubs and schools. 
Following the current EHB guidance and additional information from TRC we will be returning to the turf  with our Development Centre summer sessions for the start of 20-21 Player Pathway cycle.

Clean stick.
Please bring essential kit only.
Use hand sanitiser/thoroughly wash hands


Park away from other cars if possible. If not, wait until neighbouring cars have emptied. Observe social distancing 2m.

Please do not come to the pitches before the time given in your pre-session email. Approach the pitches on the left hand side of the club house – follow the arrows. Observe social distancing 2m.

Players' temperatures will be checked. If the temperature is 37.5 or over they will not be permitted to play and will be asked to leave the site. Players only will then proceed to be registered.

Please give SURNAME followed by FIRST name.

Then, please sanitise your hands and you will be directed to enter the pitch and put your kit in a designated place.

Parents, while you are waiting, please maintain social distancing 2m. Once your child is on the pitch with coaches, you will need to leave the area surrounding the pitch.


Players will be working in zones which allow social distancing in groups of 5. Coaches can move between 2 groups, making 6 in a group in total.

If a player has to leave the pitch to go to the toilet, use hand sanitiser on leaving and wash hands whilst in the toilet. Use hand sanitiser on returning to the pitch.


Equipment will be moved to the pitch pre-session by coaches. Only coaches can move goals.
Players should touch personal belongings only and move balls  with their stick only (Gks + gloves).
If you forget, clean your hands with the hand sanitiser by the pitch.
All equipment will be cleaned after each session.


2 changing rooms/toilets will be available for Summer Camp participants only:1 for girls and 1 for boys in the club house corridor. Only 1 person will enter each toilet at a time. Soap and paper towels will be available.  Please ensure no toilet paper or paper towels are left on the floor – use the black bin bags. If you have to wait, please observe social distancing 2m.
Handles, taps and toilets will be disinfected at lunchtime.
Toilets will be cleaned before each camp.

Indoor Access

There is no other access to the clubhouse. So please ensure you bring PLENTY TO DRINK.

First Aid

There will be a First Aid kit on each pitch. 
First Aiders will have PPE – gloves, aprons, masks  visors.
In the first instance, the player, under guidance, will be asked to apply plasters / ice packs.
Used FA equipment and used PPE will be disposed of in a marked bag.


The lunch break between the 2 pitches will be staggered.
Players will eat lunch on the grass area (roughly 35 minutes), maintaining social distancing 2m. 
There is no indoor access in case of rain, so please bring appropriate clothing/protection. 
All rubbish needs to be put in the black bin bags provided.
Use hand sanitiser on leaving and returning to the pitch.


Departure times will be staggered. Please use the designated gate from the pitch. 
Use hand sanitiser on leaving the pitch.
Exit towards the car park to the left of the club house near the High School observing social distancing 2m.
Parents, please arrive for the time given in your pre-session email – please do not congregate by the pitches.
Please leave the site promptly as coaches will then need to deal with equipment and  facilities.

Development Centre Summer Sessions => [Provisional Dates]
The Development Centre is the first step into the EHB Player Pathway - It is the gateway into the Norfolk Academy that starts again in September.
The summer Development Centre will be open to birth years;
2009 - U12
2008 - U13
2007 - U14
2006 - U15
2005 - U16
2004 - U17

The Development Centre is a great opportunity to have a fun day playing hockey while picking up the latest skills in this exciting Olympic sport and experiencing EH Player Pathway coaching. The sessions are aimed at players aged 11-16 years old (birthdates 2009 – 2004.) Players are welcome to attend as many camps as they like but those wishing to be considered for the Norfolk Academy Centre (running from September) must attend a minimum of 2 Summer camps. 

NHA manages the Player Pathway in two sections in order to continue to provide the best support for our players, parents/carers and coaches.  The managers of both sections work closely together to ensure that the system offers the best experience for our players.
Glenn Moore (Norfolk Player Pathway Administrator) will take on the responsibility of managing the online system, payments and training/tournament information.
He will be the first point of contact for players, parents/carers and managers.
