Using his professional skills and personal time, he has played a key role in improving Norfolk Hockey's communication through the website and supporting safe and secure databases. Beyond that, he has supported the development of future generations of players and helped host Masters' competitions for other counties. An avid Norwich City player and Norfolk Hockey master player. Norfolk Women's Over 50s Show Spirit at East County Tournament 2025

An extremely keen group of Norfolk ladies took to the field at the County Tournament in Cambridge, where even the heat couldn't dampen their determination. Norfolk were lucky to have their number one supporter helping to manage substitutions on what turned out to be a sweltering day, ensuring smooth play and keeping spirits high.

One of the standout moments was holding Cambridge, the eventual tournament winners, to a draw - a fantastic achievement that highlighted the team's resilience and determination. While they may have finished with the wooden spoon, the level of commitment and enthusiasm from every player was undeniable. The feedback from everyone attending was overwhelmingly positive, with players praising Norfolk for being inclusive and fostering a strong sense of community.

The experience sparked a desire to keep building momentum, and our Chair, Paula Thomsen, is already looking ahead to arranging a tour and a few friendlies before next year's event.

Norfolk Men's O45s Clinch East Hockey County Championship in 2025

Published: 14 Apr 2025

After finishing runners-up in both 2023 and 2024, Norfolk Over 45s finally struck gold in 2025, clinching the East Hockey County Championship title at Southgate HC. The campaign got off to a rocky start with a narrow 1-0 defeat to a combined Cambridgeshire and Suffolk side, despite Norfolk dominating possession and wasting some gilt-edged chances. However, the team bounced back impressively, recording deserved 2-0 victories over Essex and Hertfordshire. Norwich City's Mark Moffat and Sam Markillie - who has represented both Pelicans and Dereham in recent years - each scored in both matches, helping to secure a crucial +3 goal difference. That margin proved decisive, handing Norfolk the title ahead of Cambs/Suffolk. Pulling the squad together was a big challenge this year, but the reward was more than worth it - bringing home the shield was a proud and satisfying moment for all involved. With the winning squad represented by Harleston Magpies, Pelicans, Dereham, Norwich City, North Norfolk and Norfolk Dragons.
